Other Resources
Yale Anglers’ Journal
One of the great discoveries during my time in Connecticut was the Yale Anglers’ Journal.
Officially described as “a literary publication dedicated to understanding angling and the natural world”, it is filled with short stories, poems, essays and artwork from both professional and amateur writers.
Founded in 1996, it is edited and published bi-annually by Yale University undergraduates who do a great job and produce quality work.
If you have some downtime because spring hasn’t sprung in your area and/or you’re looking for something different, order a copy or a subscription to the YAJ. Enjoy!
Outdoor Blogger Network Summer 2011 Rendezvous
There are many of us who have become fans and members of the Outdoor Blogger Network (OBN). It has become a hub for those who write about fishing, hunting, photography, paddle sports and other outdoor interests. OBN also has a forum, frequent giveaways, and opportunities to test new products. It is an invaluble resource and a place to meet other bloggers.
OBN has just launched the first details of their summer 2011 rendezvous. For those who want to meetup with other outdoor bloggers this is a great opportunity.
The plan is to meet Wed August 10 – Sat August 13, in Estes Park, CO.

Something To Think About
While reading the Fly Fish Ohio site, I came across this great editorial on the fly fishing industry.
The gist of the article is that the fly fishing trade largely focuses on a narrow segment of fly anglers, those that can afford expensive gear and exotic trips.
In order to survive, the author suggests that the fly fishing trade associations, merchants and other industry players need to take more inclusive approach to defining the market, reach out to other angling trade associations to form alliances, and invest in angler education.
What do you think?
