There are a number of great seasonal brews that show up on shelves in September and October. Here are a few of the pumpkin ales we’ve been trying.

Fall Cornbread
Although I would never try and compete with Chi Wulff or Brk Trt when it comes to recipes, here is one for cornbread that is popular with our family. It makes a great addition to the weekend breakfast lineup, or served with chili during football season.
Ingredients:
1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oil
2/3 cup milk
2 eggs
8″x8″ or 9″x9″ baking dish
Mix ingredients together and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!
September 11
No posts on fishing today. Instead we’re spending time remembering 9/11 and how lucky I was to be working from home that day and not at our offices just a few blocks from the World Trade Center.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families that lost loved ones in New York, DC, or Pennsylvania.

It Runs In The Family . . .
. . . Or actually walks. Below is a childhood picture of my wife in a 4th of July parade in Webster, NY. Her brother is the less than enthusiastic angler and her sister is the fish in the background.
Now I know why it was love at first bite sight. She thought I was hooked, but apparently it was her.
