More Summer Panfish
Hit the local trout stream on Friday, only to find more bream than trout. I’m sure I had the “who put the chocolate in my peanut butter” look on my face before packing up and heading home. I guess the water was warmer than I thought.
This morning I left the waders at home and instead took the kayak to the local lake. Found plenty of panfish willing to take a popper and run with it. It was early, but I was the only one on the lake. Here’s a few pics. Enjoy!
Summer Bream
The temps have been hovering around 100 degrees, so when they dropped into the 80’s, I took the kayak to the local lake for an evening session.
Started casting with a grasshopper imitation, but after a limited number of strikes and no takes, I quickly switched to a small green popper w/rubber legs. From that point on, each cast yielded a bream, ranging from an ambitious 3″ to a healthy 8″. Caught well over a dozen in less than 2 hours. Here’s a few pics. Enjoy!
