The FCC did not ban us from the airwaves after the first broadcast of On The Fly, so Saturday we met at Lake Kenoshia in Danbury CT and began filming our next show. Once again, Frank DeGrazio from the Angler’s Den came out and gave some great insight and instruction.
This time we focused on warmwater flyfishing from kayaks. It was a pretty good day for shooting, with temps in the 70’s. The wind was a little more than ideal, but it didn’t seem to bother Frank and the crew.
We shot segments covering, rods, flies, kayaks and retrieving styles. Then finally, we spent a little time on the water.
The side of the lake that we fished was especially weed choked, and the wind caused us to reposition frequently. We did catch a few, but none larger than this guy.
We’ll go back into the studio in a couple of weeks and finish the show. We’ll add a segment on the types of fish found in the lake and do voiceovers for some of the on-the-water footage. It’s been an interesting adventure, and gives me a different perspective when I’m watching other fishing shows.
Hope your summer is going well and your getting out to enjoy some warmwater flyfishing. Enjoy!
