The last few visits to the local trout stream have yielded a number of bass and panfish, but sadly no trout. The water levels and temps have also been unpredictable due to the hurricane and the rain.
Today the sun came out and temps were in the low 60’s, so I decided to give it a try. Water levels are still higher than historical averages but very wadeable.
The first hour was slow, but when I switched to an unweighted prince nymph and a small split shot I was able to land these two beauties within 30 minutes of each other. I was especially impressed with the fight and the girth of the rainbow. Enjoy!
