Last week Mother Nature finally made good on her promise to send some rain our way. After a rather dry summer, where rivers and streams in the northeast fell to record lows, she blasted the east coast. Some areas experienced over 20″ of rain in just a few hours.
Most of us were just happy to see the the water level rise to the top of our wading boots, but there were some areas with minor flooding.
Small streams took it the worst. These pictures were taken on my weekly drive from NJ to CT, and clearly show these tributaries overflowing their banks.
More rain is forecast for this week, which could translate into fairly decent fishing into the fall. Enjoy!
